There are opportunities for adults to join and help develop Scouting in Huddersfield South East at all levels in supporting roles as skills instructoirs or sectional helpers, as fundraisers, and as Trustees on the Group and District Executive Committees.

Scouting can and should be a fantastic environment to volunteer in, and seeing young people develop and become positive young adults who make a contribution to society is reward enough for most. However, by joining Scouting there are opportunities to develop experience and skills, which are useful in the workplace and oin your CV. Where employers are looking for leadership skills, nothing speaks louder than the ability to successfully manage a group of young people, or a team of volunteers.

On a more personal side Scouting opens doors to activities that get you out into the countryside, get you active, and perhaps even get you doing things you thought couldn't do. You might even end up teaching people to kayak, or climb, or cook.

In most cases no previous experience is required, in all cases the minimum training required is provided free of charge, additional training and activity training can also be free, or at a subsidised rate.
